Horse adoption and rescue organizations offer horses a second chance by taking in unwanted and, abused horses and some of them are rescued from slaughter auction houses. These horses are then rehabilitated and are available for adoption to and qualified, caring homes. Most of these organizations are run by volunteers with the dedication and compassion for our equine friends.

Most horse rescue organizations are non-profit and are tax-exempt, and are solely supported by contributions from individuals.

Information

Canham Farm is not your typical horse rescue. Yes, we rescue horses from neglect and abuse but we are also committed to reducing the greatest amount of suffering for the largest number of horses through advocacy, education and, when possible, exposing cruelty and prosecuting abusers.

Utilizing a CONSENT – TRUST – CONNECTION™ (CTC) approach to each horse’s training and rehabilitation, whether their trauma is physical, emotional or both, we provide negected, unwanted and captured wild horses the chance of a better future.
