Horse adoption and rescue organizations offer horses a second chance by taking in unwanted and, abused horses and some of them are rescued from slaughter auction houses. These horses are then rehabilitated and are available for adoption to and qualified, caring homes. Most of these organizations are run by volunteers with the dedication and compassion for our equine friends.

Most horse rescue organizations are non-profit and are tax-exempt, and are solely supported by contributions from individuals.

Information

Feathers Foundation, a 501(c)3 corporation, operates primarily Circle L Rescue Ranch in Prescott. Currently, our ranch is overflowing with animals and is home to 40 horses, over 85 dogs and 120 goats plus a varying number of geese, cattle and sheep?almost 300 animals total. For many of them, Circle L was their last hope as they were rescued from the “kill list” at County facilities or the Humane Society, litrally a day away from euthanasia. Others come from owners who can no longer care for their pets in this struggling economy. Some animals are not suitable for adoption and will live out their lives at this sanctuary. For the adoptable ones, it’s our goal to find caring homes for each of them where they receive the love they deserve.
