Horse adoption and rescue organizations offer horses a second chance by taking in unwanted and, abused horses and some of them are rescued from slaughter auction houses. These horses are then rehabilitated and are available for adoption to and qualified, caring homes. Most of these organizations are run by volunteers with the dedication and compassion for our equine friends.

Most horse rescue organizations are non-profit and are tax-exempt, and are solely supported by contributions from individuals.

Established in 2005, Healing Hearts is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abused and neglected animals. We provide them with care and compassion at our Healing Hearts Animal Refuge Ranch located in Willcox, Arizona. Although Healing Hearts is a refuge where animals may live out their natural lives, if at all possible we try to find them a new forever home. Domestic companion and farm animals of all kinds; horses, dogs, cats, pigs, goats, sheep, burros, cows and rabbits find a safe haven at this unique and dedicated no-kill animal facility.
