We’re a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation located in Rancho Santa Fe, California and are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and placing all breeds of sick abused, abandoned and slaughter-bound equine; including wild horses and mustangs, ponies and donkeys. All horses pictured on this website have been rescued or were born of a rescued horse. We want you to see these majestic animals and fall in love with them as we have.

UPF has become one of the largest thoroughbred retirement, rehabilitation and adoption organizations, saving hundreds of former racehorses from slaughter by giving them a humane and deserved retirement. With an operating cost of approximately $350,000 a year, UPF relies on volunteers and the generosity of donors to perform its mission and maintain its well-equipped farm with a carrying capacity of more than 100 horses.

Hanaeleh is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of horses. We rescue horses that would otherwise be sold to slaughterhouses, promote horse advocacy, and manage a social network for all who share an interest in horses.

True Innocents Equine Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that rescues abused, neglected, abandoned, and unwanted horses primarily in Southern California.

Lifetime Equine Refuge is dedicated to saving lives and providing a second chance to horses in need. We strive to provide protection from cruelty for all equine breeds through rescue, sanctuary, adoption, foster, equine assisted learning and humane education.

High Sierra Wild Horse Sanctuary and Gentling Center was established to help provide a safe haven or temporary home for titled BLM mustangs and burros when their owners are faced with unforeseen circumstances. We are also an educational resource for owners, adopters and trainers of all breeds of equines.
