At A Place for Peanut, Inc. Horse Rescue, our mission is to rescue and provide rehabilitation for unwanted horses, including those abandoned and discovered by local authorities. Through compassionate care and specialized programs, we nurture these horses back to health, preparing them for rehoming. Additionally, we prioritize equine therapy for healing and empowerment, benefiting both humans and horses. We also raise awareness about equine welfare issues, aiming to transform the lives of horses and foster a future where they receive the love, care, and respect they deserve.

Mane Characters is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization, dedicated to assisting equines in need. Located at Maplehurst Stock Farm in Paris, KY, nestled in the picturesque beauty of Bourbon County, right in the heart of the Bluegrass, and the center of Horse Country. Skydog Sanctuary has locations in Malibu and Mariposa California as well as our 9000 acre ranch near Bend Oregon.

Skydog Ranch is a forever home for wild mustangs and burros who have ended up in horrible and dangerous situations – at kill pens, at auctions, in unloving homes where they have often been starved and neglected. The horses here represent so many different aspects of the mustang issue, once rounded up by the Bureau of Land Management only to slip through the cracks and end up without the most basic care and affection.

All the wild horses and burros here are treated with the utmost kindness and respect and we leave in peace the ones who want to be left alone and give others the love and compassion that they have not experienced from people before.

Rosemary Farm Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, founded in 2012, to rescue equines in need and protect them for life. One of the largest facilities in the Northeast, there are over 100 horses in residence in our magical mountain home, located three hours and a world away from New York City.

“Sanctuary” is the primary essential quality offered to every equine welcomed, in addition to comprehensive medical care, daily interaction with humans, basic gentling for safety, and detailed attention to each one’s health and happiness. These equines are rescued from slaughter, abuse, neglect or homelessness after the death of an owner. Any horse, regardless of background or breed, can find itself in need and Rosemary Farm is home to Mustangs, Percherons, Standardbreds, Thoroughbreds, Gypsys, minis, mules and more.  A select few are adopted, if it is the right direction for the equine, and under strict terms of contract.

Verified by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, Rosemary Farm prides itself on quality, ethical, long-term care. Approximately one-third of the residents have enjoyed over a decade of quality life here. Compassion is a guiding principle as each life is nurtured, valued, and loved.

At Rosemary Farm, horses live in dynamic natural environments, in herd groups, creating vital family bonds that are honored and protected, and providing visitors a rare opportunity to see large bands of horses running free across a mountain.
