At A Place for Peanut, Inc. Horse Rescue, our mission is to rescue and provide rehabilitation for unwanted horses, including those abandoned and discovered by local authorities. Through compassionate care and specialized programs, we nurture these horses back to health, preparing them for rehoming. Additionally, we prioritize equine therapy for healing and empowerment, benefiting both humans and horses. We also raise awareness about equine welfare issues, aiming to transform the lives of horses and foster a future where they receive the love, care, and respect they deserve.

Our vision at A Place for Peanut Horse Rescue is to create a future where every horse, regardless of their past, receives the love, care, and respect they deserve. We envision a community where equine welfare issues are addressed and understood, fostering a culture of compassion and advocacy for these magnificent animals. Through our unwavering commitment to rescue, rehabilitate, and raise awareness, we strive to transform the lives of horses and inspire others to join us in our mission of creating a brighter future for all equines.

“Where every hoofbeat tells a tale of rescue and renewal.”

Our organization depends solely on donations to support our sanctuary for the wild mustangs and burro’s. Thanks to the generous donations from individuals and local businesses, we are able to care for the abused and mistreated mustangs. Rescue America’s wild mustang horses & burros and help advance its public education programs to raise awareness of the important role these historical, living, legendary animals play in America’s western history. Legendary Mustang Sanctuary developed and supports two formal education programs which include internships for students studying Veterinary Medicine and Equine Sciences. An application process is in place for these programs. We have also implemented a Veterans Program called S.A.V.E. (Sanctuary and Veterans Equine Project) to aid in the healing of PTSD and other identifiable illnesses.
