Tierra Madre Horse Sanctuary is simply a very nice, very loving home for horses who, through no fault of their own, have no better place to go.

Equine Advocates has helped rescue thousands of horses from slaughter, abuse and neglect.

The Equamore Foundation provides rescue and sanctuary for neglected, abused, and abandoned horses that have no other alternative for life. Each day our Sanctuary pushes back against cruelty and indifference. Our mission of kindness and respect for the dignity of all life is vital and universal.

Located overlooking the Pacific in Santa Barbara, Hearts Therapeutic offers life-changing experiences to people of all ages with a wide range of disabilities. Since opening in 1985, approximately 60,000 lesson hours to over 2,000 members of our community have benefited from therapeutic riding. Today we have 10 horses and serve 80 riders per week.

Our mission to provide a safe natural environment for mares to foal in peace, and to nurture and nurse their young.

The Foundation is a forever home and sanctuary for abandoned, neglected, and abused horses, or those facing premature euthanasia or shipping to auction for slaughter. The members of its resident herd of from 25 to 30 horses at any one time are provided the finest possible care and keep to insure that their last years are their very best. Although the organization maintains a small number of its rescue herd in nearby sponsored foster homes, Horse Harbor does not adopt out horses to the general public.

Our goal is to save horses from abuse, neglect, slaughter and premature death and provide a safe place for them to live for the remainder of their lives.
